Effects of gamma irradiation on structural, thermal and mechanical properties of polyamide-11/halloysite nanotubes nanocomposites

The effect of gamma irradiation on neat Polyamide-11 (PA11) and PA11 filled with 3 wt% halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) was investigated at various doses up to 100 kGy in air room temperature. test conducted sample films prepared by a twin-screw extruder the first step then cast extrusion. study showed formation maximum gel fraction 10 20 for PA11/HNTs, respectively. Furthermore, results indicated occurrence crosslinking low dose, whereas chain scission took place higher ones. Additionally, revealed that presence HNTs limits impacts through barrier effect. An optimum dose found thermal mechanical properties, corresponding formation. Moreover, experimental design implemented highlight main incidences interactions both incorporation radiation some relevant effects irradiation.
